Agreed. The one in our garden is surrounded by healthy well growing plants. the only place where there is nothing is in the rain shadow under it and even there we get dandelions attempting to grow. 20 metres from the tree would cover much of the top of our garden, all of our neighbours, most of the garden above us and some of the next house along. To judge by the amount of bindweed growing in that proposed 'dead' zone it seems very unlikely.
If anyone wants problems with them, ours is a male tree and in May/June it produces clouds of yellow sticky pollen. When the sun shines and the wind blows the tree almost disappears under a yellow fog.
Oh dear, oh dear. Araucaria is a tree of the wild forests of Patagonia. It is not a British native and can be very destructive. It wipes out or stunts virtually all vegetation within a 20 m radius, including of course the wild-life that goes with it. CUT IT DOWN as soon as practical.
Yet more absolute tosh. Do you just make this crap up to be contentious? Eejit.

How can you tell if a tree is male or female? Ours has tiny cones that it’s dropped on the lawn.
