Sorry to hear about your back ... I’m in the middle of a family of ‘backs’ so I know how limiting they can be ... so far I’ve managed to protect my back .., it’s my knees and shoulders that are falling apart 🙄
Your garden sounds great and much like this one ... imagine my excitement a couple of summers ago when I looked in our wildlife pond (only established a couple of years previously) and saw a grass snake making lunch of one of ‘our’ frogs ... and I managed to get it on camera 😊

My local wildlife rescue service recently asked me to release a young grass snake, which I did, straight into me pond, aint seen hide nor hair since! we do however have a very healthy population of Slow Worms - good for them little white slugs
