What's this in my new turf?

Hi all. Very new to gardening so please excuse any daft questions. We've had new turf put down 1 week ago with advice not to mow until at least 2 weeks have passed.

Can anyone identify what this stuff growing within the turf is please and what to do about it? It's it good? Bad? Irrelevant?

Any advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

    It's grass - flowering  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ah. So nothing to worry about? No need to mow it away?
    Thank you @Fairygirl

    It's fine  :)
When you do a first cut, don't cut too short. Don't take more than about a third of the height off. If you're really bothered by it, you can snip it off with scissors, but you don't want to walk on new turf more than is necessary.
The grass growth will be slowing down now, so it's best to keep it a little longer for the winter, especially if you're in a drier area.
