Hawk moth

This little beauty materialised amongst the washing, just brought in from the garden. Luckily, he happily flew off, unharmed. 😘

    I think your photo has flown off with the moth ;)
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    That looks to me like a Privet Hawkmoth Patsy, the UK's largest species  :)

    Very lucky Patsy, though my daughter would disagree, she's petrified of moths.

    I used to be petrified of moths, would go into hysterics if one was in the room.
    when I had my son I made up my mind not to pass on silly phobias like that and as hard as it was, I started off by touching tiny ones then working up to bigger ones, after a while I could pick up the biggest of them.  My son absolutely loves all wild life, not scared of anything. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
