Usually a problem with pruning wrongly or maybe it's been stressed by the droughts last year and earlier this year.

  • I also thought lack of water would cause lack of flowers, but @janine.howell didn't mention the leaves and surely they would be wilting if water was an issue. I am more inclined to go with wrongly pruned now - could that be the cause perhaps?
  • Thank you for your replies. I think it must have been the pruning but I don't remember doing anything different. Will it come back next year?
  • If the plant doesn't flower next year, and you haven't pruned it in the previous 12 months then you will have to consider a different cause @janine.howell I don't know what else to suggest apart from pruning or lack of water.
  • Thank you, apologies for the delay in replying
