What plant is this?

Hello gardeners!

Does anyone know what this is? The spikes are hard and very spiky/sharp at the ends.

How big might it grow?

I’ve recently moved into a new house and this am trying to figure out what the previous owners planted :-)

Many thanks!

It could be Festuca Glauca. They don't normally grow that tall. Probably no more than 40cm tall.

It's not festuca. It could be Juncus Effusus.

I consider it to be an invasive weed, don't let it seed whatever you do.

I don't remember my festuca having those tubular looking leaves which look a lot the wild rush that spread all over the Belgian garden if we let it.  Looked a lot like Ceres' juncus effusus and it spreads by its roots as well as seeds so beware.
