Hydrangea leaves drooping

Should I be worried?  I transplanted the hydrangea earlier this year to its new position. The flowers have been considerably smaller than last years. Advice welcome.

    Lack of lack of water? The ones I planted in spring droop if I forget to water. They seem to be very thirsty plants.

    Unless you get regular heavy rainfall, or are prepared to water and mulch regularly, that's going to struggle with the amount of other plants you have  round it. They're all competing for the available moisture. If you had the hot, dry spells many people experienced this year, it may well have dried out and it's difficult to rehydrate them once that happens.
    They need a lot of room - hydrangeas become large shrubs.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Thirsty.  Give it a good 10l bucket or watering canful of water and repeat every few days till the rains come.    Next spring, nip off just the spent flower heads and give it a generous feed of blood, fish and bone or a fertiliser for flowering shrubs and water it in dry spells thru spring and summer..

    It’s my first year with these new beds. They were previously an area of lawn. Think I’ve been a bit too keen on over populating the area. Will ensure I give it the space it needs. Next to it are Dallas which I’ll move. Many thanks. 😊
