tomato irregularities
in Fruit & veg
Can anyone help identify what ails these tomatoes, what I could do if anything to prevent next year, and if they're still ok to eat?


Hard to photograph but lots have a lot of pale spots like this

But there's nothing wrong with them and perfectly safe to eat.
If you keep them somewhere warm they may continue ripening

Temps have certainly been awkward this year, so I'd agree that's the most likely reason, as toms do seem to react negatively with fluctuations more than most other plants.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yes @Pete.8 needs must when every time you go out you pick over 2lb of Roma and 50 black cherry tomatoes. 😁
