Best Paraffin Heaters for Lean-to Greenhouse

Hi all,

I do not have electricity in my 8 x 8 lean-to Greenhouse and want to invest in a paraffin heater for the freezing winter nights.

Which one do people recommend? Would I still need to insulate the roof with horticultural bubble wrap or best not to if using paraffin heaters?

Many thanks in advance, Nigel

  • All depends what you are going to put in greenhouse over winter, I tend to bring in my dahlias, lemon, orange trees, fushsia and cover with fleece no heat, then in my other greenhouse I bubble wrap it and in early March I have a four tier mini frame and cover and I use a small paraffin heater the one that hooks up and I have it sat on the flags and that keeps it at a good temperature for germinating my seeds,
  • Thanks for that - I am thinking of the tilly lamp style and setting it on the floor. It is for keeping my semi-tropicals safe over winter.....some i move indoors but truth be told after last year they actually do not like the dry air of central heated homes. Plus this year many are far too big now to bring indoors. What is the manufacturer of your paraffin lamp?
