  • @AnniD .......i thought the same, although thought Shirley had to choose that person after her comments on their dance.
Hope you have a lovely evening at your friends.....and that you don't hear about the scores beforehand 🤞

Pleased with who is in sem-final. Looking forward to the two dances next week.

If you haven't seen the results,  look away now  :)

I'm glad Chris and Karen went through out of the 2 of them, but l'd be quite happy for them to leave next week. Personally, l like his attitude.
He works hard, has respect for his professional partner, takes on board what the judges say, and above all has fun. He doesn't treat like it like a matter of life and death (unlike some !), but doesn't "prat about" and takes the training seriously.
Having said all that, l don't feel that he deserves a place in the final when he is up against the better dancers remaining.  l think he would be like the unwanted guest at the party, especially where the judges are concerned, and l'd like them to go out with their heads held high.
The Final week is stressful what with all the rehearsals, PR ,ITT and all the rest of it, so l hope he and Karen just turn up for the return of the contestants bit.
Can't wait to see his rumba though - the mind boggles 😁
  • I look forward to watching strictly every year it takes us through Autumn into Christmas and somehow the show has got better each year it has been going but for me it is light entertainment first and a dance contest second, I really feel sorry for people who feel that they have to watch it even though they seem to hate the very bones of it, very sad.

    That's very true @barry island.
Do you have any particular favourite or do you just like all of them ? Are you a dancer ?
Apologies if you have already said, l have missed it :) .
Edited to add, the hokey cokey is about my limit, although l enjoyed Country Dancing as they used to call it, in my youth.
  • I'm not a dancer and don't know a Rumba from a Rum BaBa but then the show isn't a dance competition, that was "Come Dancing", this is a light hearted entertainment with flashing lights girls and guys and a big dollop of camp, what's not to like?
  • Musical theatre has had a huge resurgence in popularity ... if actors, sportsmen/women and media folk want a career which extends past whatever is paying the bills at the moment, learning a few dance skills and proving that they have a following that’ll put paying bums on seats is a really good career move.

It’s what musical and panto producers have been crying out for.

It makes a good Saturday evening family entertainment tv programme and has folk queuing up to take part for the reasons above ... win:win

Thats what Strictly is for 😊

  • Exactly what I thought on Saturday night watching Karim, this is a audition for these contestants. Joe Sugg who's Joe Sugg hey he's on strictly and now he's a presenter. About time the tv had some new talent.

Very true, look at people like Danny Mac. He came from Hollyoaks and is now has a career in the West End.  (He's in a production of " White Christmas" at the moment ). His samba with Oti was brilliant.
Tom Chambers,  Louis Smith and Jay McGuiness also spring to mind.
