I was somewhat vexed by Saffron's dress having a pink underskirt, which l felt clashed horribly with the red of the rest of it. By this stage, the fixation with "getting to Blackpool" seems to outweigh any joy in the dancing, the strain of it all is definitely getting to some. And Motsi's comment to Alex and Neil about an affair (swopping partners with Kevin) was definitely an "oops" moment. Neil seemed to take it in good part (not that he could have done much else), but l wonder what Katya's expression was like ? I was underwhelmed by Emma's dance , she did it well but l was expecting more Fosse, if you know what l mean. I like Anton, but l really feel this should be his last year.
I appreciate the contestants who seem to enjoy the experience, Alex, Kelvin, Saffron and Karim although maybe not this week for Karim but Mike I'm sorry to say seems to me as if he's just going through his paces and isn't enjoying the experience. Mike and Emma in the dance offs with Mike leaving I would say.
@AnniD I found that underskirt a distraction too. I also found the length made it difficult to see what her feet were doing on the dfew occasions the camera angle let us see them.
I don't think Mike is going thru the motions at all. It seems clear to me he's working hard and is game for anything. Just doesn't seem to feel the music and can't make his dancing look good.
I think Anton still has some mileage but not his current partner. No excuse for a Fosse inspired dance to be boring and careful.
I also really resent the pre-dance mawkish stories we're getting about "doing it for grandma" etc. They're doing it for their careers and for the fee which is fine. If they have screen time to fill, let it be with more dancing!

I too hate these sob stories for a few extra votes,Emma was pulling on the old heartstrings but then she's an actress. I didnt like Saffron or Micheles dresses, and felt Kelvin and Otis Costumes were a bit distracting,I was noticing his name on it. I agree with you @AnniD time for Anton to withdraw,if anything he was the one out of step.Either his hearts not in it or they dont get on.
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Maybe so. Given how irritating I find her he's probably done well not to swat her one but he does still do very well in the group pro dances and the ones with the guest performers on the results show.

I admit that l am not feeling the love between Anton and Emma, although l can't put my finger on why. He usually talks up his partners from Ann Widdecombe to Susanah Constantine even though it's tongue in cheek. I haven't heard him gushing so much about Emma, although l may have missed it ( I do quite a bit of fast forwarding ! ) . Can't say l am too keen on the standing ovations from the judges either.
I have to confess I haven't watched a lot of this series, but from what I have seen Mike seems to have much more enthusiasm than ability. That said, he has no control over who is in the bottom two or who the judges choose to vote off.
The Tower ballroom is wonderful and the springy floor is great to dance on but the town itself is going to be a huge disappointment to the celebs who have never been before.
As for the voting and the couples in this week's dance-off - speechless.

I won't spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet, but the ending was fun ! Also l enjoyed the professionals dance and the performance of "Bring him home", as there was no whooping or clapping from the audience, and it really made a difference .

We’ve got a sweepstake going on right now about how many times the word is said tonight.
