Butternut squadh

my butternut squash plants have grown vigorously in my greenhouse. They have had big flowers on most of which have now fell off but I can’t see any signs of the fruits forming? 
Should they form from the flowers dying on the plant?

    Male flowers fall off, but female flowers have a baby squash behind the flower. They have to be pollinated so if the greenhouse was closed up you will have to use a male flower to pollinate. If the greenhouse is kept open the bees should find them.

    Thank you. That makes sense. The greenhouse has been closed a lot as had so much wind! I will have a go at pollinating the flowers but never done it before. I’ve seen Monty do it so will see if I can find a small paint brush!!

    Too late this year to grow and ripen a butternut squash to an edible state.

    Try again next year.
