Box tree caterpillar

Morning!
Just found this little beastie and his friends on one of my box shrubs.
Wondering, is it worth even trying to pick them off, etc, or is that a hopeless task? Should I chop down this box shrub to try and stop it spreading to other, more precious, areas of box in the garden, or just sit back and face the inevitable and start propagating something to replace all my box?

    I had some munch through my boxes, sprayed them dead, but planning to replace them soon as in London and the South East it's getting nonviable to keep it, unless you're happy to use chemicals on a regular basis. Which to me seems like a pointless exercise, as I'd rather not use insecticides. Bug Clear Ultra was effective in stopping them, if you need to stop them now and decide on further action later. It's really distressing.
