Schizostylis Coccinea 'Mrs Heggarty' problem

Hi all, 

I've got what I think is an issue with my Schizostylis Coccinea Mrs Heggarty. Do any of you guys keep this plant??

I recently purchased it to grow in a water basket (how it came) from an aquatics centre near me. It's in a shallow area of my new pond but it seems to be dying off. The leaves first started to go yellow but are now turning red! I fear it may be dying, can anyone please advise???

Here it is before planting in the pond (in the same basket)...

    I grow mine in the ground.  It likes damp soil.

    I grow mine in the ground as well, not in the pond. The pot looks a bit jammed, spread them out and plant up separately.  Easy to grow from seeds.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Oh OK, thanks both! I asked the advisor in the GC did it need planting out and he said it'd be fine for another year!  :D

    Thank you guys, I'll try potting it out. The GC are selling them in water baskets.

    Strange to hear they are advising you to plant them like that. Even though they do prefer moist soil, I have seem them thriving in more drier soils and they do well in pots too, which is quite challenging with watering. Definitely sounds like your plant was too wet.

    Very strange. Moist soil and sun for them usually, but they're certainly not pond plants. Wouldn't do in the margins, or even a bog garden.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Oh god! Yeah in a water basket and all, bought it and had advice from a place on my logistical route to Cardiff at a place named similar to Waidenhead Aquatics!

    Strange! Well it's out of the water now so hopefully it'll pick up and I'll put it in the ground nearby!
