Marks on my acer leaves.

What are these black marks on my young Acer please .  Kind regards, Tony

    Hi Tony, it may be too much sun depending on where you've planted it. Mine is tucked up in the north facing corner. Or not enough moisture.

    Don't think it's to hot it's sheltered under a high tree but not directly. ?

    Is it being kept moist? They don't like drought. Looking at the photos on various gardening sites it doesn't look like tar spot.

    Have you gto a wider view of it @tony williams2?
    It's most likely weather related  - probably very dried out, if it's under a tree.
    The tree will be nicking most of the available moisture from the ground.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    It's not all the leaves just the top couple.

    I wouldn't worry unduly, but without any further info, it's difficult to offer any more advice.
    If it's been very hot/sunny at the wrong time [ ie when new, soft growth appears] it could have frazzled them. Wind will also do that  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
