Netting

My purple sprouting broccoli is already outgrowing the net cover I have and due to the set up the poles won’t extend any further... is it too early to take the netting off as they’re bursting out and fear I may be stunting the growth?

    I still see lots of cabbage whites here in Essex.
    If your plant leaves are touching the netting chances are the butterflies will have laid eggs on them already - as I found to my cost the last 2 years.... I've not grown any this year for that reason

    I may be wrong but for my part I would risk a bit of damage from butterflies at this late stage but beware the damage by pigeons during the colder months.

    The cabbage whites have decimated both my cabbage and turnips even though they are under netting and that's because the veg are touching the netting.
