    I've got to say it... Pyracantha is the obvious and BEST choice...  tell your partner to stop being ridiculous!

    I have to admit I used to be a bit snobby about it too, but seeing it espalier-trained has completely changed my mind.

    I love it too @WillDB. I've also seen it cloud pruned, against a cottage wall up in the north east of Scotland [Angus] and it was stunning  :)
    The berries at this time of year are glorious too.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • I agree with you guys...but my husband will not be swayed. He says it reminds him of an old people's home. This perception was not helped by the fact that we went for a walk at the weekend and saw it in a garden, and yes, it turned out it was a nursing home   :s

  • haha i considered it but then no-one would take the bins out, so we settled with some euonymus  :p i'm looking into the clems now :)
