Verbena bonariensis babies

I am so pleased to find lots of these in different places .... a lot of my older plants are a bit woody now and I’d like to put these newbies together to form clumps. Should I move them now, pot them up and overwinter them or leave them where they are until next Spring? Advice would be much appreciated.

    I would take cuttings from side shoots now to overwinter. Put four in the corners of a 3 inch square pot, let them grow over the winter, then pot the entire clump into a 6 inch pot when they start new growth, pinch out and  plant out in May.

    Yes, now’s the time for cuttings ... and to be on the safe side I’d pot up self-sown seedlings and keep them in a cold frame or similar over winter. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
