You can grow a range of salad leaves through the winter in trays.  Many of these are oriental veg like pak choy , but also rocket and winter lettuce.  You can also do a range of sprouting seeds for micro leaves such as beetroot.   Biennials such as bromton stocks sown now and kept in an unheated greenhouse , individually in 4 inch pots, will give early cut flowers next year.

You can sow pansies and violas now to keep in the GH over winter.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
