Hornets

Not worried about them as they're magnificent beasts, but, I wonder, has anyone else been receiving visits from hornets this last few weeks.  I didn't realise how much of the time they fly at night.  Sitting here now with the windows closed bar a small vent for air, because I had to remove six the other eve (glass and paper method) as I just didn't fancy going to bed with that many gently patrolling the warm air round my bed! Must have a nest site nearby, several at the window now.

They’re strongly attracted to the light and will fly a long way towards just a chink of light from a window at night. Close the curtains and they’ll go on their way.

And dont open the windows in a room where the light is on !!!
