Cactus identification

Can anyone identify this plant? My nephew was given a pot of small cactus and now one has started to grow he wants to find out what it is and how to care for it properly.

    That is not a cactus ; it is a Crassula ( C . lycopodioides) .

    You'll probably find it listed as crassula muscosa. The one next to it also isn't a cactus. It's a haworthia and it likes bright light but less direct sun than a cactus usually would.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
