Rudbeckia ‘Chim Chiminee’

I’ve grown this rudbeckia from seed and I would like to keep it for next year. I think they are supposed to be half hardy, but I’ve read conflicting information about this. Does anyone have any experience with overwintering this? Thank you.

    You are in the hands of Mother Nature. If we get a long cold spell then anything half hardy can die off but you'd be surprised what can last through the winter and come back the following year.

    Would it be better if I dug it out and put it in a pot in the garage over the winter? I’ve grown rudbeckia cherry brandy as well, is that hardier? I really love them 💕...

    If you look in Chiltern seeds they are marked as being annual, perennial so it could be that they are short lived perennials depending on where you live maybe

    I have Sahara and Cherry Brandy. Cherry Brandy hasn’t opened yet. Might have to get Chim Chiminee, it is lovely.

    I've grown Chim Chiminee, some survived but not more than 2 - 3 years, and some died. I left them in the borders over winter.
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    @Busy-Lizzie Two, three years would be good for me. It’s just that they’re very slow to get going from seeds every year... and they don’t seem to achieve their full potential in one year. 

    @Hazyb That Sahara looks gorgeous. I don’t know that one...
