Happy accident..

During the season a verbena plant snuck in one the blueberry plants. When I went on holiday I put the blueberry bushes near the toms so the automatic watering system would keep them alive! Now I’m back I really love the verbena against the orange tomatoes- so next year I will put pots of it amongst them. Just ‘pretties’ things up a bit without shading the toms and of course brings in the pollinators! 😃

    They look lovely together.
    my best Verbenas are growing on my patio, I’ve got an edge of chippings with a membrane under, they’re in there with no soil at all.
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Verbena is a godsend in our garden- awful soil and hot/dry! I think some calendula would work too!

    My verbena has hopped over the drive and seeded itself between the edge of the tarmac and a wall.
