Wide leaf Hollyhocks

I've purchased three Hollyhocks, one is growing tall and has lovely burgundy flowers, but the other two have produced massive leaves, have grown to about 3' tall and are just getting wider and not any taller. There doesn't appear any flowers on them, but a lot of extra leaves. 
Can anyone give me an idea of why this is happening?
