    Morning all.
I certainly caught up on my sleep...woke at 10.15.

Enjoy your trip through the Black Forest T'bird.

LB, friend in Rothesay has lost so many plants to the deer who jump over her wall.  Hope your ones stay in the field.

Chive, it's your turn for curtain twitching to suss out possible new neighbours.

Hazel, good luck for your OH with the tiling.

LB how beautiful to see those images from your garden.  I hope the dental appointment passes quickly.  Joyce I'm glad you caught up on your sleep.  I slept well too.  It makes a huge difference.  Chive hope you have a good day.  Pansy hope little cat and you and oh are okay.  Runny hope you and oh are feeling better.  Chive have a good day.  Topbird sounds like an interesting place and getting some relaxation.  The sun has come out and just topping up Alfie's dreamies who has been eating better these last few days.  Popping to the opticians with dad this afternoon as hell need some reading glasses after his cateract ops but normal vision is pretty good.

    Afties all.
PF - the deer have been there for a few years now and I think that they would have some difficulty getting into my garden because of my hawthorn trees and my log pile which is virtually the full length of my garden. I noticed that it is starting to break down nicely now.
My dentist was proud to tell me that since I last saw him he has become a Granddad. A little girl last April. Lovely news. Teeth got scaled and polished and some x-rays were taken as its been several years since my last lot. He discovered I have a crack in one of my teeth in my lower jaw. It is not causing me any trouble whatsoever but I told him that I would not bother with the filling until I get back from France next month so I've an appointment for 14th October. The sun came out so the cloth things are doing nicely. My friend from Crewe is joining me later - pub quiz tonight.

Afters , I was full of good intentions ,but I got sidetracked. Started reading and only just realised what time it is .The garden will have to wait until tomorrow . It’s turned out to be a beautiful warm day here.

Rubee, I get up most days full of good intentions but it's not often they are all fulfilled.
I got another bag of plums given to me today. It seems that a few of the neighbours have a glut.

Glad all went well at the dentist LB.  It's time I made a check up appointment with young brown eyes.

Thanks for the music Pansy - it brought back so many memories. Probably haven’t heard that tune in over 40 years. My dad used to play it on the Ferranti radio-gram which was a huge piece of 50’s / 60’s style furniture in our sitting room. That and Herb Albert and Nana Mouskouri - happy days!🙂

Glad the dentist wasn’t too bad LB.

    Plum crumble for you Joyce😋

We’ve done a lot of driving today. Quite frustrating to be honest 😔 Lots and lots of trees (expected) - nearly all pine / conifers (boring) - very few views through the trees (boring) - lots and lots of roadworks so our planned routes across the hills were thwarted (bu$$er) - twice.

So we’ve ended up somewhere we didn’t plan to be (but that’s ok) but - horror of horrors - despite visiting 2 backereis - I have found NO Black Forest gateau. Beginning to think this cake is a figment of the German Tourist Board’s imagination. If I can’t find one I’ll have to make my own when we get home😋
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Herb Albert and Nana Mouskouri.....I remember them well.
"Lack of views through the trees" is one reason we used to tour various areas of Scotland in the Spring.
Maybe Black Forest Gateau has gone out of fashion in Germany too.

    Wet and windy here now.
