Agree with Beaus Mum and Hazel. Maybe a planted urn sat in a circle of low box, make the path go round in a circle then tack off to the gate. If space allows

@dustycorner - your garden, your choice. If it bothers you, and you like things symmetrical, move it. You can have a focal point beyond it, right at the end of the part beyond the hedge and gate, aligned with the gate and steps. It's an old design trick in symmetrical spaces
To be honest, it wouldn't be difficult to move it. The posts aren't likely to be concreted in very far, and nowadays, you can buy packs of ready to use concrete for putting posts in. You dig a hole, put the post in, put the mix in and then add water. The only other equipment you need apart from a spade, is a spirit level.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
