Dry slope in full sun

Hi all you clever people any ideas for plants for a dry sunny slope that gets baked in the summer . I was thinking maybe lavender/ thyme?- Any other suggestions? Low maintenance obviously and if it’s wildlife friendly so much the better . Not a huge area but fairly steep slope  It’s my daughters front edge and she was wondering about ornamental grasses? Never grown them myself what do people think?

    Lavender and thyme are spot on. Anything Mediterranean. Rosemary, sage (not just the one you use for cooking but the coloured leaf varieties too), santolina, stachys byzantina, nepeta (six hills giant....it really is and loves the heat), achillea, grasses, anything silver coloured in general. Creeping thyme is wonderful and does well in a fairly arid setting. Cerastium tomentosum is good for edging. Geranium sanguineum seems okay in the heat.

    @Ceres thanks for that she put in a load of petunias without asking me and they have not done well. She just needs something green to suppress the weeds and of course thyme is beloved by 🐝 bees 🐝 so that’s a bonus!

    Poor petunias. It our current hot spell, I have plants that ought to be happy in arid conditions and they are just drooping but the silver plants are just fine, as are all the thymes and nepetas and sages.

    Cotoneaster will be fine too - and great for wildlife.  Great for a slope.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Perovskia would be a nice contrast to the mounding lavenders, thymes etc. You could have alliums as well, they would probably appreciate the sharp drainage.
