    Eaten tons of blackberries in my life ... not one of them has ever been washed by anything but the rain ... and I’ve grown up big and strong ... 🙄 😉 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    A hooky stick  (not hockey - but I suppose it would do at a pinch) is an essential bit of kit on these foraging expeditions😀

    And wellies. You usually find the best ones growing on the edge of a bog  B)

    The wellies that grow in bogs, you mean? Oh yes, but normally only one at a time. If you need a pair, it's usually best to go to a shop where you'll find ones that have been harvested and matched up.

    Are the green ones unripe and the black ones ripe - like olives?
