Which roots are least (or most) destructive?
I have in mind a shortlist of trees - I am going to plant one on the edge of my grass but it's next to a block paved path.
Is there a website where I can check on the tree roots to see which ones are least likely to cause problems to the path?
I think I read that coniferous trees have less invasive roots, and a pine tree is on my list along with Viburnum, Japanese Privet and others.
thanks

Are you talking about a tree or a bush tho’? Viburnum is most usually considered as a shrub.
There was a famous study done on tree roots and buildings in 1989, by cutler and richardson. But a book, and never places on the web. Closest is this research paper
