So many flowers have a snapdragon look about them: antirrhinum, toadflax, woundwort, nemesia varoius herbs etc etc. Are they all related, or is it just a particularly efficient way of getting pollinated?
Sounds like an unpleasant disease doesn't it? Some wonderful plants in there tho and form a wide range of habitats so something for most gardens I'd have thought.

I find the connections between different plants fascinating -even though i don't understand all of it😕. But i think that knowing a little bit about what family they belong to can give clues to how to grow them.
Yes but its the family connections ( dont know horticultural terms) that interest me. Where else would i get an answer to my snapdragon question in less than ten minutes? I wouldnt even know how to frame the question for Google in order to get a useful answer.

Go to www. Type in snapdragon flower. Look for wiki. It will show it as Antirrhinum.
To right side of screen is the Scientific details....the family.etc
If you look closely at the shape of the flowers, it indicates what group they are in. With compositae, they are all what you recognise as a daisy, a central disc of stamens with a lot of florets around it. All those with a snap dragon shaped flower are related, but not close enough to cross pollinate.
