  • I have recently collected some seeds from my established plant, so thanks for the advice @Hostafan1 .  I was wondering whether to divide my established plant - I have had it for about 5 years now bought in a small pot - it has become more interesting as it has developed over this time.

I found they worked really well from seed and flowered in the second year . Mine are still too small to split, but a 5 year old clump should be ok.

My lot in the last garden were very vigorous and needed splitting and taming every 3 years with loads ending up on the compost.  The purple version was much better fbehaved for the first 3 or 4 years and then seemed to find its triffid genes and became huge.

I still like them both tho.

@Obelixx talking of purple versions, I have a gorgeous blue Aconitum out in flower, if it ever stops raining and the sun dries the seeds, I’ll harvest them.

  • Sow them on the compost and cover or not and keep indoors or out, remember I am in the North-West?

    Ooh, yes please @Lyn

We'll have to see if I have anything you can use in your somewhat wetter garden.
