Acer bought reduced - anything I should do?

I recently bought a reduced Acer 'orange dream' from a DIY shed. It's showing some signs of damage/ill-health on the newest growth. Is there anything I should do/be worried about? Currently planted out in my mildly acidic soil, not a container. Sheltered from wind and fun sun by a fence. Thanks!

    I had one in a similar mess a year ago, at the grand cost of £4...grew nicely this year to a lovely specimen. Just keep it well watered and give it a tiny bit of feed before it loses its leaves for the winter. Early next year trim any dead tips and watch it grow, they're tough plants, provides they are given good conditions. Good luck
