@jandjwoods1610 Re:quantities of compost. Yes this is one of the big limitations of no dig raised beds. If you read Charles Dowdings books or hear one of his talks he admits he gets a lot of compost in from his local authority green waste scheme and manure from local farmers. Not so practical in an urban or even many suburban area. He also works very hard on making compost in large amounts. No dig does not mean no work, it is just different work and is especially hard at the set up stage, though he says it gets easier over time. You still need access to enough compost to spread a layer 3-5 cm deep everyyear on veg beds.
My object is to grow vegetables not spend time making compost. Many of the proponents of No Dig don't have an answer. Whilst how much money you spend on a hobby is a personal decision there comes a point were buying large amounts compost to grow (lets face it) a few vegetables is unacceptable.
