Any idea what this is?

This has been growing up my honeysuckle for about a month now and been very vigorous. I have left it to see if it flowered or anything but it hasn't and I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?

They look like some sort of clematis to me.

Can you show a photo of the honeysuckle, maybe there was a mix up on the labelling or have you had the honeysuckle for a long time ?

Borderline - my mum said a clematis but we then thought it's grown to quick for that and it's just covering the honeysuckle. It's grown from ground to cover a 6ft fence panel in around 4 weeks. Why I think it's possibly a weed.

Lyn - I have had the honeysuckle for around 7 years now and this has sprung up in 4 weeks.

Could it be wild clematis ("Old man's beard")?  That grows really fast...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • It looks like it could be clematis vitalba or old mans beard. You see it growing in hedgerows and is extremely vigorous. I’m not completely sure though.

Agree about clematis vitalba.  It grows very, very quickly.

I think your all right! Looking on Google it looks very similar. I have pulled it all up and cut it out the honeysuckle. Thank you!
