Hydrangea Incrediball

OZZOZZ Posts: 14
Hello,  I'm on a hunt for hydrangea Incrediball x 2, however what I find confusing is the eventual height given on different websites. Some list it as up to 2m tall,  some 1.5m, some 1.2m. Are they all different varieties or which website should I trust? I would like to put them under my windows and they can't be taller than 1.2-1.5m, so it really makes a difference to me. Hydrangea Anabelle is the same,  all different hights listed.  Thank you!

Nutcutlets right, I’ve got them here easily 7’ tall whilst others have the same at around 2’  it depends on whether they like you ground, if you keep them in pots they’ll never reach their full potential.

You can cut them to <3ft (or whatever you choose) every year, which will keep them compact. (Apparently doing this makes the flowers bigger, which can cause them to flop,so you might want to leave some of the sturdier older stems as a framework.

This is a very useful thread as I’ve just bought an ‘incrediball’ and was wondering the same as Ozz.

I know this thread is a year ago, Ozz what happened?  Did you follow Loxley’s advice and did it work?

Lynn’s note about not having them in pots is also appreciated,
    thanks

    Hello 👋
This is what I have learnt with my hydrangeas!
They are incredibly versatile in re to the high and after a couple of seasons of pruning you'll find a way/heights that work for you.
Mine got light pruning this spring (left around 30 cm and cut off all the weaklings) and got to around 1m with medium size blooms. But also the plant send some new growth that got huge blooms and a bit taller.
I think next spring I'll chop it off mercilessly to 5-10 cm and will enjoy huge blooms;)
Picture of some dried hydrangea.  These were the new ground shoots. I loved this size!
