A local garden centre is selling Sambucus Black Beauty in both tree and shrub form. I thought they were always trees that need trimming back each year. Does anyone know how large the shrub version would grow to please?
Given ideal growing conditions and time they can get to 4m high. However, you can hard prune them in late winter to keep them smaller as a shrub or raise the crown so they look more like a small tree.
