  Most acers  are better off with dappled shade as well as being sheltered from the wind. That’s probably been frazzled by too much sun. .

  And probably would be good to see a wider shot to appreciate the overall size of the Acer and its neighbours.

  Full sun will damage leaves especially if newly planted as it hasn't got the root network of an established Acer. You are also being much more generous than I am with mine!
