Thanks for replies people, we had a few ducks in that section maybe 18-24 months ago, my wife has just "remembered" she put pumpkin out for them which I'm guessing was trodden down and stayed there, so I am now thinking they are pumpkin or cucumber

Do melons have tendrils? I've never grown one.

The melons I'm growing have tendrils. No melons but lots of tendrils!

Mine are 'Summer Squash Fordhook Zucchini'. Very interesting that the varieties can be so different.
