    The dangly bits were like tapeworms, but the heart of the root ball was very agapanthus like.  Thick and all coiled up, so I am hopeful. :smile:

    sounds like vine weevil, or it's totally dried out at some point.

    I don’t know who said in the first place that they like to be cramped and pot bound! 
    They grow beautifully in Cornwall, in gardens, that’s a pretty big pot.
    i spilt one of mine this year, three flower spikes. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
