Dwarf hedge - dog wee?

I'm thinking of putting a low (<40cm) box hedge across the front of my patio. However, I have a dog, and while he doesn't wee in the garden often (he's such a good boy), him weeing on it is a consideration. He's never out there when I'm not there, so if there was an 'accident' I could hose it down. Would that prevent it causing any issues?

Are there any other alternative plants I could use? I've been looking at Berberis t. 'Kobold' and Ilex crenata amongst others. But it's hard to replace Box.

Cant help with your question but love the dog,
Mind you the gardens on our neighbouring estate were planted with box hedging and on ours with lonicera nitida and I suppose they are regularly 'watered' judging by the amount of time my dog spends sniffing them, and there is no sign of damage.

Also this month's Gardener world has an article on hedging plants, 10 in all,  I use my library magazine section to download a copy.
