Fuchsia bug mite

hi, has anyone who has had a fuchsia devastated with this nasty disease got it to recover. I have cut it down, stripped it bare and given it a Westland big bug resolve wash. It is now just bare branches. It was 12 ft magnificent tree and now in a day nothing but a stem. advice on Any more I can do would be appreciated. Thanks Val
