Black dots growing on my Double Flowered 'Chiffon' Hibiscus...

Does anyone have any idea what these are on my Hibiscus?

I planted a couple of months ago and I thought it was doing really well as it was looking really green and it has some shoots that are about to flower, but on close look it's full of black dots growing all over it. I have planted another Hibiscus a few feet away and it has none on...

Really new to this gardening stuff so any details on what it is and if I should be worried would be great

Black fly, squish them off with you fingers.

They look like aphids to me - blackfly. They love new growth on plants. Please don't use a pesticide on them, try to encourage natural predators into your garden like ladybirds and birds. In the mean time you can wipe them away with your thumb and forefinger, it's rather messy but preferable to using a pesticide!
  • Thanks very much for your replies, very happy to hear it's not a disease! I'll get some gloves on and encourage them to go away!
