Odd growth on Camellia

NollieNollie Posts: 7,529
My camellia has recently grown this odd thing, looks like a fruit or a gall? I did prune back some wayward branches after flowering (without actually checking if late spring was a good time to do it) and it has appeared on a pruned branch as you can see. Anyone know what it is?
