Reduce a box hedge?

Is there a way in which I can reduce the width of a box hedge,I have a very wide healthy one in my garden.

Clip it gradually back to the size you want.   August is a good time to do a trim and you can also give it a major trim cutting it back in May, around Derby day.  However, you can also give it a good pruning back in late winter if you don't mind it looking unsightly for a while.

It will be a shock so, whichever method you choose, make sure you keep it watered in dry spells and give it a generous feed in spring to help it fight off any prblems with box blight or caterpillars.

Have a read of this info from the RHS and scroll down to Care and Pruning
