What has happened to my honeysuckle??

Please see pictures of my honeysuckle last year and this year!! Does anyone know what is wrong with it?

    What a shame. I don't know what went wrong but it's a big plant tight against a wall so last year's hot summer would have stressed it water wise and being dry this spring a lot of plants are struggling.
    Honeysuckles do prefer a bit of shade.
    You can try scratching a branch to see if it's still green under the bark.
    Water well at least once or twice a week with a couple of watering cans full and certainly mulch in the spring to help conserve moisture.

    Honeysuckle need a deep shady cool damp rootrun and their faces in the sun ... just think ... in the wild they’re plants of woodland and hedgerows. 😊 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
