Garden design software ant ideas?

hi all I want to design the layout of my terrace for next year. Hopefully making it a bit less haphazard. 

I had a crazy brainwave that I could design something using my iPad.....but of course can’t find any software that does not need you to take photos of the empty space.

any ideas or experience?
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

    It's a question which has been asked a number of times and, sadly, nobody has come up with anything which is either free, or of a price which would suit the needs of an occasional user.

    home design 3d on android phone is pretty good 
    not sure if available on apple

    All of the softwares that require you to take photos basically assume you are starting with a blank canvas with nothing in the way. Also they need you to be x feet await from every wall, window etc which is not an option for me.  I think I’m just going to lay it out in excel. And go from there.
