Lilac

Can anyone tell me what’s happened to my lilac bush? I only bought it last year in the clearance but it was growing well until last few weeks

    The leaves are pale which would imply that it's hungry. Give it some fertiliser for shrubs or roses and water it in. If the soil is dry the plant can't absorb its food. Has it been in hot sun? Some leaves look a bit scorched, but could be because it was thirsty.

    Yeah it gets quite a lot of sun at the allotment so perhaps a bit dry. Is that why the brown patches are happening?
