Planting a new beech hedge

I'm looking to replace a 60ft long old leylandi hedge with beech. Its about 15ft high and I know the soil will need improving before replanting takes place. We are on free draining sandy soil and it's currently like dust underneath it

Can anyone please indicate how much compost approximately I'll need to buy to do the job

    No idea how much you’ll need but I’m sure someone here will help ... but I wouldn’t use bought in potting compost ... Id use a mixture of farmyard manure and bagged ‘soil conditioner’. It’ll improve moisture retention and last longer than MPC which breaks down to dust quite quickly.

    The soil may seem poor, but conifers actually don't drain soil of everything, and once they're removed and the ground dug over it'll be surprisingly decent
