Sawfly larvae?

Hi all, some of my plants are being stripped by what I thought were caterpillars, they have been around for some weeks but I now think they are sawfly larvae, can anyone confirm this?
Please see the photo below

If they are sawfly should I get rid of them?
Thanks

yes they are but I think the days of 'getting rid of' have to be over. We are losing the plot and the future

Yes. pick the leaves with sawfly off the plant and dispose of on bird table or in the bin.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thank you, I have given them to the birds, it seems there were more than I thought and they had just moved on to my lily collection!

My Solomon’s Seal where covered with little grey caterpillars ,  they are prone to sawfly but I’ve never had so many as this year,  after they’d  finished I just chopped it down to the ground, the birds loved them.
