Bush tomatoes and pinching out

While being aware that bush tomato plants are not meant to be pinched out, does there come a point where at least some pinching out needs doing? I have 'garden pearl' plants that are still producing masses of flowers, surely some pinching out will allow the plant to concentrate on putting energy into developing fruit, especially when the season wears on.

    They’re usually left to do their own thing, then fed with tomorite or similar when tomatoes develope. As it’s a bit late in the season now, I suppose it would be ok to thin it out a bit.

    I generally stop my bush tomatoes late in August, when they're well laden with fruit and it's clear that the tiny flowers still forming will never bear fruit. I just nip out all or most of the recent shoots, leaving anythiing that still has a chance of success.
